In the heart of central Queensland, the Cracow Gold Operations stand as a testament to legacy and modernity. Situated near Cracow and Theodore, this well-established underground gold mine embodies a rich history of gold discovery dating back to the 1930s. Over two million ounces of gold have been meticulously unearthed from this region, with the current mining operation commencing in 2005.

In 2020, Aeris Resources Limited (Aeris) took the helm, acquiring this asset from Evolution Mining Limited. Aeris now holds a substantial tenement package over the Cracow goldfields, which lie on the traditional lands of the Wulli Wulli people.

Cracow's significance extends beyond its historical gold wealth. Housing multiple ore bodies accessible through a single decline to the surface, mined via open stoping following a modified Avoca mining sequence. This operation processes gold and silver doré via a 600,000tpa capacity facility, featuring conventional crushing and grinding, followed by a leaching/CIP circuit.

Geologically, Cracow is nestled within a gold-rich field, characterised by steeply dipping, structurally controlled, low sulphidation epithermal veins. Ongoing exploration efforts focus on the historic Golden Plateau deposit within the Eastern Vein Field. A maiden resource has been recently unveiled, and Aeris is actively advancing technical studies to bring this deposit into production.

Cracow Gold Operations is a pivotal regional employer, significantly contributing to the central Queensland community. Approximately half of the workforce is based in the region or resides locally in Cracow or Theodore. The operation operates on land held under native title to the Wulli Wulli people, guided by a strong partnership with the Wulli Wulli Nation Aboriginal Corporation (WWNAC).

This collaboration is reinforced through a Cultural Heritage Management Plan, Indigenous Land Use Agreement, and Relationship Agreement, with heritage teams regularly on-site to safeguard cultural values. Cracow Gold Operations also actively engages with the local community, investing in education and career pathways for residents and supporting various local organisations.

Exact is privileged to be part of this extraordinary journey, working collaboratively with Aeris to secure the contract for the Cracow Gold Mine Tailings Storage Facility Stage 2 (TSF2) Raise (Downstream Embankment Raise) Construction and Ancillary Works, and this collective effort has culminated in the successful project award.

We are presently mobilising our resources and equipment to Cracow Gold Mine, with a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes within the scheduled completion date of January 2024. Throughout the project, we remain dedicated to working closely with Aeris, ensuring strict adherence to regulations, safety protocols, and delivering results that not only meet but exceed Aeris' expectations, contributing to the overall success of the Cracow Gold Mine.
