Tailings Storage Facility Lift 2 (TSF2) Construction of Associated Infrastructure, Pajingo Gold Mine

Due to the successful delivery of the first stage that included significant cost savings to the client, Exact Civil was awarded stage two of the Tailings Storage Facility Lift Project along with additional associated infrastructure at the Pajingo Gold Mine.

Given the experience of our team on the Project in stage one, and key large equipment already on site, we were able to further reduce the cost of the second stage by 30% through reduced rates for moving the remaining bulk material from the TSF1 borrow pit to the new TSF2 and delivered the works one week ahead of wet weather adjusted date.

The new TSF2 will deliver ~four years of storage capacity for the Pajingo Mine, supporting the increased production and upscale to full-time milling operations.

Key Components

300,000m3 bulk excavation cut

125,000m3 embankment construction

+130,000m3 2mm HDPE Lining and Subgrade treatment to reduce leakage and protect waterways from contamination

Paste thickener concrete works for several concrete structures to facilitate the pumping system

200m3 concrete poured across seven separate structures; and

Construction of engineered and designed Tailings Distribution Pipeline installed on the tailings dam embankment and commissioned as a fully functional network.
