Foxleigh Mine 2021 Rehabilitation Program

Engaged to undertake the 2021 rehabilitation program, which encompasses a wide range of activities including soil sampling and analysis, amelioration, revegetation, and extensive bulk earthworks. The objective is to restore and sustain the natural landscape, ensuring long-term ecological viability and compliance with environmental standards.

The rehabilitation efforts focus on three key areas within the Foxleigh Mine:

Carlo Creek West Remediation

Covering an area of 52.07 hectares, Carlo Creek West involves the remediation of previously rehabilitated slopes and flats. The focus is on stabilising these areas to prevent erosion, restore structural integrity, and ensure an ecological balance that supports the natural habitat.

Cockatoo Creek Stage 4 (Central Reach) Remediation

This stage of the project targets the central reach of Cockatoo Creek. Remediation efforts are concentrated on erosion control and slope stabilisation to protect the creek and surrounding ecosystem. The careful management of this watercourse is essential to maintaining the overall environmental health of the region.

Fox Plains North Out-of-Pit Dump (OOPD) New Rehabilitation

Spanning 52.0 hectares, this section of rehabilitation involves the complete reshaping and contouring of the land. Following the earthworks, the area will undergo amelioration and revegetation to prepare it for longterm ecological sustainability, aligning with best practices in environmental restoration.
